Journey to where East meets West on a grand 8 day adventure that covers everything you need to see and experience in Turkey. The perfect location for some fun in the sun with a cultural twist, Turkey has it all. Starting in Istanbul, the tour will fly and drive you through some of Turkey's most historical cities, including the ancient city of Ephesus and Hierapolis.

Day 1
Arrive Istanbul
Welcome to Istanbul; the City of Four Empires. With a history dating as far back as the Roman Empire; dive straight into a unique part of the world where East meets West (the Eastern half of the city is located in Asia while the West is in Europe).
Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This evening you will have your tour briefing and meet your fellow travellers; followed by an optional group dinner to get to know everyone and sample some local Turkish cuisine.

Please Note: During your pre-departure meeting you will have the option to pre-book the optional excursion of hot air ballooning in Cappadocia. This is a popular activity and we recommend you book your place in advance.

Day 2
Depart Istanbul
Your adventure of a lifetime comes to an end today. If you have a late flight or have lengthened your stay by adding post tour accommodation you will have more time to explore the sights.

Day 3
Istanbul & Pamukkale
After breakfast your adventure begins with a guided tour of Istanbul. Keep your eyes peeled for some incredible highlights along the way; including the Sultan Ahmed Mosque; The Hippodrome of Constantinople and the 600 year old Topkapi Palace which was once the home of the Ottoman sultans between the 16th and 17th Century.

After our morning of exploration we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to our next stop of Pamukkale.

Day 4
Pamukkale & Selcuk
Arguably the most naturally spectacular and picturesque part of Southwest Turkey; the town of Pamukkale is known for its white calcium travertines that form cascading pools which is where it gets the nickname of the Cotton Castle.
This morning we will explore more of Pamukkale and visit the ancient city of Hierapolis before making our way to Seluck where we will be spending the next two nights.

Day 5
The Ancient City of Ephesus
Today we begin our exploration of the ancient city of Ephesus which was considered the most complete and preserved ancient city from the Greco-Roman Hellenistic period.
Get a real feel for the heart of the ancient Mediterranean as we visit historical sites such as the House of the Virgin Mary which has become a popular place for pilgrimage for a number of years. In the afternoon after lunch we will pay a visit to the Temple of Artemis which is considered one of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World and is part of the Ephesus site.

Day 6
Ephesus & Cappadocia
It is Cappadocias (pronounced Ca-pa-dok-ya) visually striking exterior that continues to captivate travellers from across the globe. You will get the opportunity to witness the natural beauty of the region on a short day-trek of the valley with your guide in the morning before heading on to the Devrent and Pasabag valleys which are known for their unique fairy chimneyrock formations.

As the day progresses; we will explore the honeycomb underground city of Kaymakli; where once the local population of around 6000 people could take shelter from their enemies for months at a time.

Day 7
Cappadocia
As Cappadocia is known for being one of the most popular destinations for hot air ballooning; you will have the opportunity to float above spectacular landscapes and rock formations on an optional scenic hot air balloon ride at sunrise.
Following breakfast we will visit the Goreme Open Air Museum which is one of Turkey many UNESCO World Heritage sites as well as Uchisar Castle; which overlooks Uchisar village and takes around 120 steps to climb.

Day 8
Cappadocia & Istanbul
Today we return to Istanbul; the cultural center of Turkey. The city of Istanbul is a kaleidoscope of colour with plenty of sights and sounds to fulfil the needs of any keen traveller and is a city also known for its large and colourful bazaars which we will spend time exploring during the day.
The main bazaar that we will visit is the famous Grand Bazaar (Kapali Carsi) which is the oldest and largest closed bazaar in the world; housing around 3000 shops within 61 alleyways. Get ready for a shopping experience like no other!

We end our final full day of exploration with a relaxing Bosphorus cruise where you will have time to marvel at historical buildings and take in the remaining views of the Istanbul skyline.
